Santa Cruz, CA – The Santa Cruz Seaside Company, owner and operator of the historic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, recently awarded academic scholarships to 15 current employees in support of their ongoing educational goals. Each scholarship is worth $1,500.00 and can be used towards educational expenses at their enrolled college or university.
Over 40 employees applied to the Santa Cruz Seaside Company Scholarship Program. The recipients of the award demonstrated expectational work in their respective Boardwalk departments, received glowing recommendations from their managers, and are pursuing admirable educational goals that will support their career aspirations. Recipients were celebrated with a private ceremony hosted by Seaside Company President and CEO Karl Rice.
“The Santa Cruz Seaside Company is fortunate to have many talented and impressive employees,” said company spokesperson Kris Reyes. “We are proud to honor the best of the best in pursuit of their academic and career goals with these scholarship awards. We are excited to see what these talented individuals accomplish in the future.”
2024 Santa Cruz Seaside Company Scholarship winners and their titles are listed here: Antonio-Alvarez-Zavala (Security Officer); Juan Carlos Bravo-Rivera (Grounds Crew); Lucelin Castro-Reyes (Lead Ride Operator), Marlene Chahwan (Safety & Security Office Manager); Giovanni Favaloro (Food Service Supervisor); Azula Jaggar (Admissions); Valeri Konicheva (Food Service Staff); Dayana Lopez-Guevara (Admissions Supervisor); Jesse Mandujano Soto (Security Officer); Kevin Martinez (Human Resources Coordinator); Karla Valdez (Food Service Supervisor); Leslie Valdivia Mendoza (Food Service Lead); Kalia Vasquez Reyes (Retail Lead); Victoria Velazquez (Lead Ride Operator); Jo-Ann Wright (Food Service Lead).
“Receiving this scholarship will help cover a portion of my tuition to help me as I complete my final year of undergraduate schooling,” said Jesse Mandujano Soto, a Security Officer in the company’s Security Department. “This scholarship will be a significant step toward achieving my career objectives, enabling me to better serve my future career and this community.”
