Boardwalk Open Daily for Spring Break
SANTA CRUZ, CA (April 1, 2019) – The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is open daily April 1 – April 7 for a family-friendly Spring Break. Rides and games will be in full swing starting at 11am each day, weather permitting.
A new “Guest of the Day” tradition starts this week. A guest will be invited to "start the park" each day during a brief opening ceremony under the Giant Dipper sign. The guest will have the fun of pressing a ceremonial button to start up the rides and enjoy special VIP treatment throughout the day.
Doug Hofkins, aka The Boardwalk’s “Surfing Magician,” will entertain guests each week day during Spring Break. You can catch Doug’s popular show at 12:30, 2:30, and 4:30pm on Neptune’s Stage, and 1:30 and 3:30pm on the River Stage. Or find your own magic in the cozy Boardwalk Magic Shop inside Neptune’s Kingdom.
Try out a fast-paced game in the new Laser Tag arena inside the Casino Arcade or take a selfie with Splash, the Boardwalk’s favorite pelican near the Main Entrance.
A new Boardwalk Fun Run on April 7 includes a 1K race around the Boardwalk plus a 5K family race through the Boardwalk with a loop along the San Lorenzo River. The race starts at 8:00am on April 7 with prizes for top finishers. All participants will receive medals, up to 2 hours of free arcade play, a $5 MyBoardwalk card, and ride discounts.
Guests looking for a new job are invited to drop by the Boardwalk’s HR office for an Instant Interview Monday through Saturday. Both seasonal and full-time jobs are available, or check out the new 10-Day Work & Play program.
Spring Break marks the beginning of the Boardwalk’s spring season. Starting April 8, rides will continue to operate daily with full operation on weekends and Limited Rides on weekdays, throughout April and May. The official summer season is Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
